Son: I have PE today so I've put some detergent on.

Me myself and I: I am mum to an (almost) 12 year old son who often has pearls of wisdom to share with me. By some strange miracle I appear to have given birth to a small, autistic version of Noel Coward. I have an encyclopedic knowledge of Pokemon and Star Wars and am now in the enviable position of very nearly beating said son at Star Wars Trivial Pursuit. I make no apology for the extent of this useless information and point to the fact that the only way to take part in any conversation with him for a number of years was to employ the technique of, if you can't beat them, join them.
